The inspiration for this painting came from a piece of bark I found when I was out walking in Woodenbong, northern New South Wales, with my dog, Rosie. I knew immediately it would be the belly of a being, and as the painting took shape, Gaia emerged.
On each side of the painting are feathers - on the left a crow feather for ancestral connections and wisdom, and on the right, from a King Parrot for communication with passion. The painting is 30" x 12" x 0.75" (76cm x 30cm x 2m).
As the bark is quite fragile, the painting would need to be picked up personally, or taken to Melbourne for personal pick-up. It can be crated for transit elsewhere and costs in that case would have to be advised.
